Some Local & Family History

I am very proud of my family and what they have taught me of integrity and of what is possible through hard work, service to others and perseverance.  Since losing my father at a very young age, and my mother some years later, my grandparents were more like parents to me. I would not be who I am today without such outstanding role models.

The Black Flat Farm

My grandfather, John Dwyer Jr. and aunt Dixie on the Dwyer Farm on Black Flat, between Dundee and what is now Lake Kickapoo, Archer County.  Photo taken circa 1938.

Uncle Bill

My uncle J.W. "Bill" Dwyer.  He served as Archer County Commissioner Precinct #4 (Dundee, Mankins, Holliday area), from 1962 through 1978.  This 1974 plaque was photographed at the South Sycamore Law Enforcement Building & Jail prior to the current facility being built.
